This project is the renovation and restoration of the wooden House located in İcadiye, Üsküdar. The Building consisted of three stories of structural timber skeleton sitting on one masonry basement floor beneath.
The architectural design of the renovation and restoration work was conducted by NEVZAT SAYIN.
The project started in February‘2015 and completed in December’2015. The budget of the project was 350.000,- USD.
The records of the Building were found in the cadastral maps done by Jacques Pervitich in 1920’s. From this record, the age of the building is estimated to be over 100 years. It was also known from local sources that the architects of the Building were The Balyan Brothers also working for the Ottoman Palace.
During the re-construction and restoration of the building, we hold on to the original system of the building and traditional application techniques were used.
